#1 FEAR IS NOT FROM GOD
Did you know that much of the fear we experience is not from God?
Fear can be brought on by many circumstances but can also be demonic, intent on capturing its victim. The enemy will use fear to cripple. So, if fear has anything to do with it, it did not come from God.
God is light and there is no darkness in Him. God said He will never leave us or forsake us. In 2nd Timothy 1:7 it says that, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound mind.” So you can see God doesn’t give fear, but He gives a SOUND MIND.
#2 FEAR WILL DESTROY YOU
Fear is a silent destroyer. It torments and threatens your life. It affects your physical health by causing diseases and all sorts of medical conditions, such as hypertension, ulcers, stress, and headaches.
Fear is an oppressor. It zaps your ability to think clearly. It paralyzes you. You cannot eat, think, or sleep.

In John 10:10 (NLT) it says, “the thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” The thief who is the devil comes to steal your peace, joy and kill and destroy you. However, Jesus came “to give us a rich and enjoyable life.”
#3 IT IS A SIN
If you are walking in fear you are sinning, for your faith has been pushed to the side. Fear of the Lord is permissible, but fear of anything else can be parasitic. You may be asking, “How is that so?”
In Revelation 21:8 the KJV says “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
So you see listed in this verse that fear, in the form of cowardice, is on the same level as murders, sorcerers, idolaters etc., which will have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone.
God tells us in His Word to walk in faith, not fear. We should not disobey.
When you walk in fear your faith is in something else. It may be in your ability to control, your circumstances, or other idols the devil has tried to convince you are greater than God. You are giving way to the enemy when you live in fear. When that is the case, you need to find your way back to God and turn from letting fear lead you into sin.
