Who We Are

Welcome to Anchored Voices, a place for those who follow Christ to use their words and creativity to point each other to the God who anchors the soul. This space was created to foster an online community where we can remind one another that when the waves hit—in Jesus, the soul is safe.

“We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf.” Hebrews 6:19-20

Hope. For some, the word might seem unmoving. It can be dismissed as theologically soft or written off as a naive ideology. But hope isn’t frilly, passive, or weak—it is fierce, active, and central to everything Christians believe.

Christianity doesn’t exist simply to make people moral or supernaturally efficient. What is truly offered is a relationship with Jesus that exposes the mess, makes something truly beautiful, and ignites a fire within. God created each of us for something unique and meaningful. Hope invites us to stop focusing on what we’re not and instead dream about what God can create within us if we trust Him.

Hope sings to the numb places in our hearts. It calls to the parts of us that have been locked away, hidden, and silenced, awakening them to life.

We have felt hope—built dreams upon it, wrestled with it in deep despair, and rejoiced in its fulfillment. Through God’s Word, we encounter hope in its purest form. We find that hope is a person, and that person is Jesus—our High Priest and King.

Yet sometimes, when searching for life, we hesitate to embrace hope. The risk feels too high. The potential for disappointment looms large, distorting hope into something that feels dangerous. It’s the lie of Proverbs 13:12: “Hope deferred makes the heart sick.” Some of us, weary of being hurt, have vowed to shield ourselves from hope’s sting. But in doing so, we also close ourselves off to the rest of that verse: “…but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life.”

When we vow to protect ourselves from pain, we risk seeing only the pain.

This heartache often leads us to search for lesser loves to soothe our souls. But these unanchored hopes—whether tied to relationships, careers, children, addictions, or even ministry—leave us tired, withered, and longing for more. The only hope that truly anchors is found in Christ. So how do we tether ourselves to this unwavering hope? How can we offer others life? What can we do to point them to the anchor that stands firm, no matter how stormy the seas?

We want to hear from you—how God has sustained you through struggles, spoken life through His Word, and continues to uphold you in the everyday. Interested in joining this conversation? Visit our submissions page to learn more.
